Everyone should have a look at this:
It’s an animation promoting an aspect of cow protection. It’ll take a few minutes to load. Hopefully your internet connection is faster than mine (26.4 Kbps, half-speed dialup).
A friend wrote to me today about the poor condition of modern-day ISKCON, how the modern leaders have stolen and ruined Srila Prabhupada’s movement. The following was my reply:
Hare Krishna. Please accept my fallen obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I was chanting Hare Krishna for two years with no idea about any of [...]
Yesterday I spent a little while reading some Hare Krishna blogs and ‘news’ articles, notably including a quote and essay by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada. The quote said that we should not criticise others, but rather just improve ourselves. The essay was in large part criticizing someone who had written something in praise of jnana. [...]
Hare Krsna. Last weekend Sanatana das, Stephen Voith, (recent NY Times article here) gave a cow, Krishna Priya, to our family. He’s very active in cow protection. I’d like to write more about that soon, but right now I just want to get a picture up here…
That’s been my issue with ISKCON this past year, credibility. I expected and assumed for many years that the Hare Krishna devotees in ISKCON were comprised of a lot of people who were saturated with genuine Krishna consciousness, many who were mostly saturated with genuine Krishna consciousness, and a few (myself included) who somehow managed to become free enough [...]

An interesting e-mail arrived in my inbox today. Here’s an excerpt:
Srila Gurudeva [Bhakti Tirtha Swami] was a pure devotee of the Lord and he desired to have his pushpa Samadhi in Gitanagari. The words of a pure devotee WILL come true. When Srila Prabhupada was on the ship Jaladuta on the way to [...]
Today I took a look at Krishna Kirti’s blog, the Hare Krishna Cultural Journal. I don’t go there to often anymore because his policy of censorship is ridiculous. (I’m not a big fan of censorship. The only “comments” that haven’t been approved here are spam.) I used to be a regular commentator there, usually making [...]
Hare Krsna. It seems that changes in ISKCON books is making news again. What a mess! Now there’s this thing about experimenting with an end to capitalizing pronouns referring to Sri Krishna. Why not just hang a banner saying that we don’t know what we’re supposed to do?
Over at the Sampradaya Sun, there’s an interesting article, “De-emphasizing Krsna’s Pronouns.” [...]
I ‘ve installed a message board on my web site, but I haven’t given out the URL yet. Basically all I have yet to do is decide on topics. Of course I’ve got some ideas, but nothing final yet. If anyone has suggestions, let me know. It could be cool place for misfits like myself [...]
